Troubleshooting Yola Mail issues

If you're having trouble accessing your Yola Mail mailbox, sending or receiving emails, or using a particular mailbox, the issue may be related to your login credentials, domain status, DNS settings, or mailbox storage.

This article provides steps to help you identify and resolve some of the most common Yola Mail issues. Find the section below that best matches the problem you're experiencing and follow the recommended steps.

Unable to log in to Yola Mail

If you're unable to access your Yola Mail mailbox, try the following:

  • Make sure your domain is still registered with Yola. Go to the Domains page in your Yola account and make sure the domain associated with your mailbox is listed there.
  • Make sure you're using the correct Yola Mail login page. Access Yola Mail webmail at https://yolamail.com/.
  • Check your email address and password. Make sure you're entering the correct credentials. If your browser automatically fills them in, try deleting the saved values and entering them manually.
  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies. This can resolve issues caused by outdated or corrupted browser data.
  • Change your mailbox password. Follow the steps in Updating your mailbox's password, then try logging in again.

Unable to access a different Yola Mail mailbox

If you own multiple Yola Mail mailboxes and are already logged in to one of them, visiting Yola Mail webmail may take you directly to the mailbox you're currently signed in to.

To access a different mailbox:

  1. Click Logout to sign out of the current mailbox:

  2. On the login page, enter the email address and password for the mailbox you want to access.
  3. Click Login.

If you need to use multiple mailboxes at the same time, you can access them using different browsers or devices. You can also add your mailboxes to an email client that supports multiple email accounts, such as Apple Mail, Outlook, or Thunderbird. For more information, see Setting up your mailbox with an email client.

Unable to send or receive emails

If you cannot send or receive emails, the issue may be related to your domain, DNS settings, or mailbox storage. Review the sections below to find the cause that best matches your situation.

Your domain has expired

If your domain expires, its DNS records will stop resolving until the domain is renewed. As a result, your Yola Mail mailbox may stop sending and receiving emails.

To check whether your domain needs to be renewed, follow the steps in Renewing your domain.

Your domain was transferred or deleted

If you transfer your domain to another registrar, or if your domain is not renewed and is eventually deleted from Yola, your Yola Mail service will stop functioning. If the domain is deleted from Yola, the associated mailbox will also be automatically deleted after a certain period.

To check whether your domain is still registered with Yola, go to the Domains page in your Yola account and make sure the domain is listed there.

Your domain uses third-party name servers

You can continue using Yola Mail even if your domain's name servers point to another hosting provider. However, the DNS zone managed by that provider must contain the DNS records required for Yola Mail to work correctly.

If you recently changed your domain's name servers, make sure the required Yola Mail DNS records are configured with your current DNS provider. For more information, see Changing your name servers.

Required Yola Mail DNS records are missing

If you've recently changed your domain's DNS settings, you may have accidentally removed or modified the records required for Yola Mail.

Review your domain's current DNS records and make sure the following records exist and are configured correctly. To view, add, or edit DNS records, see Managing DNS records for your domain.

Type Name Value Priority
MX   mx.yourdomain.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com 0 (or 1)
CNAME mail mail.yourdomain.com.cust.b.hostedemail.com
TXT yourdomain.com v=spf1 include:_spf.hostedemail.com ~all

Your DNS records must have yourdomain.com replaced with your own domain name.

Your mailbox is out of storage space

Each Yola Mail mailbox includes 5 GB of storage for emails, contacts, and files. If your mailbox reaches its storage limit, you may be unable to receive new emails and may also experience issues sending emails.

To check your current storage usage:

  1. Log in to your mailbox at https://yolamail.com/.
  2. Look at the storage indicator next to the disk icon in the bottom-left corner.
  3. Click the storage indicator to view more detailed information about your mailbox usage.

If your mailbox is full, delete some older or unnecessary emails and files to free up space.

If you need additional storage, contact Customer Support to request a storage quota increase. An additional one-time fee applies.

Your email cannot be sent due to "Message detected as spam" error

If you see a message indicating that your email has been identified as spam when you try to send it, the message may have triggered Yola Mail's spam protection.

Review Improving email deliverability for Yola Mail to learn more about the factors that can affect email deliverability and how to avoid common spam triggers.
