A Free Trial with Yola

We offer a 14-day Free Trial of Yola paid plans (Bronze, Silver, and Gold), allowing you to explore the full features, tools, and support available to paying subscribers before committing. You’ll have the same access as a Premium user, but without hosting charges during the trial period.

Note: Free Trials are only available to users who have never previously subscribed to a paid Yola hosting plan.

The Free Trial length is 14 days. 

You’ll need to add a valid payment method (credit card, PayPal, debit card) or purchase a domain through Yola to activate the trial. At the end of the Free Trial, your account automatically converts to the paid Premium plan you selected when signing up, unless you cancel before the trial expires.

Four days before your Free Trial ends, you’ll receive an email reminding you that your trial is nearing its end. This way, you’ll have time to decide whether to continue with a paid plan or cancel before charges apply.

Important: When you start a Free Trial and choose a domain, the domain will be registered at the discounted rate, but not for free. The offer of a completely free .com domain for the first year applies only if you upgrade directly to the paid annual plan without starting a Free Trial.

Before publishing a website, make sure you have already verified your email address. 

Starting a Free Trial with Yola

You can explore Yola for free without publishing, but your Free Trial of hosting services begins when you try to publish your site.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. In the editor, click Publish in the top-right corner. A banner appears offering two options: Publish to a domain or Not ready yet? Preview for free. If you’re not ready to go live, you can preview your site without starting the trial. Make your choice and click Continue.
   
   
    
2. If you’re publishing, the next window opens to select your domain. You can register a new domain or publish to a free temporary subdomain ending in .yolasite.com. If you’re registering a new domain name, type your desired one into the search field and click Search, and you will see the list of names available. Pick your desired name and click Get.
   Note: Here, you can also see our special offer banner, which allows you to save with the annual plan. If you switch the toggle to annual, you’ll see the amount of the discount you get with it. 

3. Next, you’ll be taken to the hosting plan selector. Our Silver plan is selected by default as the most popular option, with a choice of annual or monthly billing. If you prefer another plan, click its Start Free Trial button to select.
   
   
    
4. After selecting a plan, enter your payment details on the checkout page. Here you can see what exactly you are paying for, your payment schedule with the key dates and prices on the right side of the screen, and how much you can save when buying annually. Click Buy now. 

Note: If you register a domain during the Free Trial, the domain fee is non-refundable.

5. Once you see the You’re all set banner, your Free Trial is active, and you can return to the editor to continue the website publishing process by clicking Return.
   
   

Tips:

• For the hosting purchases, you have a 30-day money-back guarantee. It doesn’t apply to the domain name registration, domain services, or online store.
• On the checkout page, you can also switch from monthly to annual billing using the toggle in the upper banner. The price will update automatically when you switch. You can save up to 25% with annual billing, depending on the paid plan.
• If you need to change the currency of your purchase, click the dropdown menu in the top-right corner.

Important: Free trials are available only to users who have never subscribed to a Premium Plan. Each account can use one Free Trial only.

Publishing with a domain you already own

If you’ve already purchased a domain from another provider, you can connect it to your Yola site while activating your Free Trial.

Here’s the instruction: 

1. In the editor, click Publish.
2. On the domain selection page, switch to the Use existing domain tab.
3. In the Connect a domain purchased elsewhere field, enter your domain name and extension (for example, yourbusiness.com).
   
   
   
    
4. After adding your domain, you’ll move on to the hosting plan selector. The Silver plan is shown by default, but you can choose a different plan (Bronze or Gold) by clicking the one that suits you better, and select either annual or monthly billing.
5. Enter your payment details at checkout and click Buy now.
   
   
    
6. When you see the “You’re all set!” banner, click Continue to domains. This takes you to the domain setup process, explained in this article (Stage 1, point 2).
7. Once setup is complete, you’ll see the Publish website button again. Click it to finalize publishing your site to your custom domain.

After finishing publishing your website, you can check your subscription status and its renewal date in your Dashboard > Account settings > Subscriptions.
