Reaching customers in their own language helps your business stand out and connect across markets. The new Multilingual translation feature makes it easier to localize your pages and improve your site’s discoverability.
You can now translate individual pages directly from the Pages menu, either manually or with AI assistance (available for Silver and Gold plan users). This gives you full control over which pages appear in different languages and how they’re translated.
Translating a single page
To add a new language and translate, for example, your homepage, follow these steps:
- In your Sitebuilder, go to Pages.
- Choose the page you want to translate.
- Click the three-dot icon next to the page name and select Translate to from the menu.
- A dialog window will open. Here you can:
- Choose the source page from your English locale.
- Select the target language from the dropdown menu.
Translation options
-
Translate with AI (available for Silver and Gold plan users):
When you check this box, a new language locale is created, and your selected page is automatically translated into that language using AI. -
Manual translation:
If you don’t select the “Translate with AI” option, a new language locale is still created, and the same page is duplicated into the selected language, but without translation. You can then translate the page manually.
Note: Only the page you select will be added and translated. Other pages from your site will not be automatically created or translated into the new language. Also, content in the Online Store block won’t be translated. Check out our dedicated tutorial on showing your store in multiple languages.
Tip: Automatic translations also include your SEO texts, such as meta titles, descriptions, and image alt text. That’s why we recommend completing all your SEO setup before starting the translation, so you don’t need to translate any additional elements later.
Translating pages with the Overwrite feature
If your website already has several pages in one language and you want to copy them to translate into another, you can use the Overwrite feature.
Let’s say your English website has five pages, and you want to create a Spanish version of all of them. Here’s how:
- In the editor, open the Main menu → Settings → Multilingual tab.
In case you already have multiple languages on your site, click the Language selector and choose Manage languages. - Click Add language, and in the dialog window, select the new language from the dropdown (in this example, Spanish).
- Click Submit in this window and again in the next one. All your existing pages will now be duplicated in the new language (Spanish).
- Switch back to the English version of your site.
- Go to Pages → Page Manager, select the page you want to translate with AI, click the three-dot icon, and choose Translate to.
- In the Translate page window, you’ll see your page and the target language already selected.
- Choose whether to Overwrite page or Create a copy.
- If you select Overwrite and check the Translate with AI box, the existing page will be replaced with a translated version in the new language.
- Repeat for other pages.
Here’s the video of the process:
Note: In this case, your site navigation in the new language won’t be fully translated automatically, since the language version was created earlier, and that information cannot be overwritten.
