Embedding a video

Sitebuilder+ does not allow you to upload videos directly to your website; however, you can embed videos from Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, and other platforms on your page.

Before you begin

Before embedding a video on your page, you should upload the video to a video hosting platform.

Adding video block to the site

Choose the place on your page where you want to add the video and click the Plus (+) button.

Click Videos in the Block library and choose a suitable Video block layout.
Click the demo video container to activate the menu. Click the Settings icon.
When the Settings window opens, you will see two tabs: Media and Appearance.

The Media tab controls how the video is embedded. Here in the Embed via dropdown you can choose how you want to embed the content:

URL — shows a field for video links.

Code — shows a field for iframe code.

Allow full screen checkbox enables viewers to open the video in full-screen mode (only supports YouTube videos)

Paste the link or the code to the corresponding field and click Save if you are done, or go to the Appearance tab to customize the embedded video looks.
The Appearance tab controls the visual frame around the embedded content:

Border – toggle on or off to add or remove a border.
Shadow – toggle on or off to add or remove a shadow.
Corners – toggle on or off to adjust the corner radius of the iframe.
You can set all four corners together or click the Adjust corners for iframe icon to edit each corner individually.

Click Save when you’re done.

Your video has been added to the page. To resize your video container, click the video to activate the size control on the bottom border and drag it to modify the size. Read our Videos block tutorial to learn how to customize this block further.

The video will start playing after you publish the site, or you can view it in Preview mode.

Embedding a Facebook video

Here is how you embed a video from Facebook on your website page:

Open Facebook in your browser and open the video you want to embed in your site.
Click the Share option below the video, and select </> Embed from the list. Remember that you will only see this option if the video's audience is set to Public.
Click the Copy Code button in the next window. You can also choose to Include full post and Start embed at a certain video timestamp.
Once you copy the code, open your Sitebuilder and add a Video block where you want your video to appear.
Click the demo video to activate its controls, and click the Settings icon.
In the Media tab, delete the demo code and paste the code of the video that you copied from Facebook.
Click Save to submit.

Note: If you embed a video and the audience of the video changes to any other option than Public, a message saying the embedded video is no longer available will appear on your website.

Embedding a Youtube video

Here is how you embed a video from Youtube in your website page:

Open Youtube in your browser and open the video you want to embed in your site.
Click the Share option below the video, and then click the Copy button to copy the link. You can also tick the Start at option to make the video begin at a certain timestamp.
Once you copy the link, open your Sitebuilder and add a Video block where you want your video to appear.
Click the demo video to activate its controls, and click the Settings icon.
In the Media tab, click Code and choose URL from the dropdown list. Delete the demo link and paste the link of the video that you copied from Youtube.
Click Save.

You can also add a Youtube video using the Embed Code option. To do this, click the </> Embed icon of the video in YouTube, copy the embed code in the new window, and paste it into the Sitebuider’s Media tab, Code section.

Embedding a Vimeo video

You can add a video using an embed code from a third-party service. Here’s how you can embed a video using the Vimeo platform.

To get a Vimeo embed code:

Click the Share button below the video you’d like to embed on your site.
Locate the Embed code in the new window.
Click + Show Options on the right side of the Embed section. Select Responsive within the Size option. Customize the rest of the options to your preference.
Go up and copy the code inside the Embed box.
Open your Sitebuilder and add a Video block where you want your video to appear.
Click the demo video to activate its controls, and click the Settings icon.
In the Media tab, delete the demo code in the Code section and paste the code of the video that you copied from Vimeo.
Click Save.

Remember to publish your website to make the changes live.
