Products are the physical goods, digital files, and services that you sell. You can sell products that you manufacture yourself, resell products of other suppliers, or use drop-shipping services.
You add a product by entering product details and uploading product images. If your product has options, like size or color, then you can add a variation for each combination of options. You can also group your products into categories to make it easier for customers to find them in your Online Store.
Adding a product to your store
- From your Online Store dashboard, go to Catalog > Products.
- Click +Add New Product:
- Enter the name, description, and other product details. Click Save.
- Click Preview Product to see how this product will look in your Online Store.
You can upload products in bulk using a CSV-formatted file.
Duplicating products
When you add several products that have similar features, duplication can help speed up the entry process and save you time. By copying a product, you can make minor changes instead of repeatedly copying and pasting the product information.
If you want to add options to a product, such as color or size, then add a variation to the existing product instead of duplicating the product.
To duplicate a product:
- From your Online Store dashboard, go to Catalog > Products.
- Click Edit Product next to the product you want to duplicate.
- Click Duplicate Product in the drop-down menu:
Modify your product details and click Save.
Updating product details
After you have created products, you can update them to change prices, images, descriptions, or any other product details.
When you successfully duplicate a product, you will have a copy of the original product. The only thing that will be different is the SKU. It is generated automatically because it must be unique.
To edit a product:
- From your Online Store dashboard, go to Catalog > Products.
- Click Edit Product next to the product you wish to update.
- Update product details and click Save to publish changes.
Saved changes take effect immediately in your online store and sync across all your sales channels.
Updating products in bulk
You can update your product catalog in bulk using export and import. You can export the products you want to change, edit them in a spreadsheet, and then re-upload them to your store using the import feature.
Once you’ve prepared your CSV file, you can import it into your store:
- From your Online Store dashboard, go to Catalog > Products.
- Click Import Products.
- Click Choose file and select the CSV file from your computer.
- Select the delimiter used in your file (comma, semicolon, or tabulation).
- Select the character encoding used in your file.
- Arrange columns (drag and drop) to mimic your file and uncheck the columns that are not used in the file.
Tip: Use the Skip column option to exclude up to three columns.
- Check the option Delete all products and categories before the import if you want to clear the catalog. This will delete all products in your store. They will be replaced with the products from the CSV file you import.
When your CSV file is uploaded, you’ll see a notification that it has been imported.
Deleting products from the catalog
You can delete a single product, or delete multiple products at once using a bulk action. When you delete a product, it is permanently removed from the store. Deleted products cannot be restored.
Tip: If you run out of stock or no longer want to display a product for any reason, but don’t want to permanently delete it from your store, then you can Disable the product availability instead.
To permanently delete a product from your catalog:
- From your Online Store dashboard, go to Catalog > Products.
- Choose a product you want to delete.
- Click Edit Product, then select Delete Product:
- Confirm that you wish to delete the product.
To delete several products at once, do the following:
- From your Online Store dashboard, go to Catalog > Products.
- Check multiple products in the list
- Click Bulk Update that appears above the product list.
- Choose Delete Selected option in the drop-down menu:
