How to set an image click-action

In Sitebuilder, you can make your images interactive by assigning various click actions to them, such as: 

• View full-size image (for gallery block images)
• Open a page
• Scroll to a block
• Open a web address
• Make a phone call
• Send an email
• Download a file

For example, a banner that says 'Click here to visit our Instagram' can lead your site visitor to your Instagram profile. 

Note: The click-action feature is available for all regular images except the background images and the website logo.

Activate the click action menu

1. Click the image you want to set the action for to call out its controls and click the Media settings icon. (The controls can appear on the top, on the bottom, or on the side of the image, depending on the block’s place on the screen.)
   
   
2. In the Media settings window, find a click-actions dropdown menu, and choose one of the options.
   
   
3. After you have specified the click action, click Save to confirm.
4. Once you are done customizing the image, click Publish to make the changes live.

You can also set up or change the alt text by right-clicking the image to call out the dropdown menu of quick actions. Select the Set a click action option and choose the action from the dropdown list in the popup window. Then, click Save and publish your website. 

Let's review all the click actions in detail.

By enabling this click action, you allow your site visitors to expand the image to the full screen upon a click. This action is only available for Gallery block images.

Open a page

This option allows you to create a link to a page within your website, so the site visitor is directed to that page after clicking the image. As the next step after choosing the click action, you will be able to select the needed page from the dropdown menu.

Scroll to a block

This option allows you to pick a block within the current page where the site visitor is taken after clicking the image.

Open a web address

This option allows you to enter the URL of a website where the visitor will be taken after clicking the image.

Type in on paste the website address you want to link to the image click action in the dedicated field, and optionally tick the Open in a new tab and Add a Nofollow tag checkmarks.

Make a phone call

Choose this option to allow visitors to make a phone call upon clicking the image. This means that the phone app on your visitor’s mobile (or a calling app on their PC like Skype) will launch upon the click (or tap) and add the number to the display. 

 Type your phone number into the dedicated field in an international format.

Send an email

You can make click on the photo to trigger an email client. Type in or paste the email address that visitors will send emails to when they click the image. 

Download a file

Choose this option if you want your site visitors to download a file after clicking the image. You will be able to add the file from your computer by clicking the Choose file button.

Also, you can choose to let your visitors download the file to their device or open it in a new tab. The Download on computer option is ticked by default. Click the radio button next to the Open in a new tab option if you want to change it.

Deleting an image click action

To remove an image’s click action, open Media settings for the target image and choose the No action option in the click-action dropdown menu.

Then click Save and Publish to confirm the click action deletion.
