Disconnecting your domain from Sitebuilder Classic and connecting it to Sitebuilder+ site

We recommend keeping your Sitebuilder Classic site active until your new Sitebuilder+ site is complete. This ensures your visitors have a live site to visit. When your new site is ready, you can connect your custom domain to it by following the steps outlined in this tutorial.

Tip: While working on your new site, you can publish it to a free Yola subdomain

Disconnecting your domain from the Sitebuilder Classic site

You can unpublish your Sitebuilder Classic site if you don't need to keep it live anymore (for example, if your Sitebuilder+ website is ready). This will automatically disconnect your custom domain from it.

The other option is to disconnect your custom domain from your Sitebuilder Classic site while keeping it published to a free Yola subdomain. This way, you will be able to keep both your sites live. Here is how to disconnect a custom domain:

  1. Go to My Yola Dashboard.
  2. In your My Yola Dashboard, click Domains.
  3. On the next page, select the needed domain and click Advanced settings.
  4. In the Connect your domain to a site section, select the Sitebuilder Classic site you want to disconnect your domain from. Click Disconnect.

Note: It is not possible to disconnect a primary domain, so please make sure you set another domain as a primary one before disconnecting.
