Customizing form settings

You have many options to make your forms truly unique and supporting your website goals. Here's how you can customize your form settings.

First, you need to activate the form block menu. Click anywhere on your form to activate the control pane:


Click on the "gear" Settings icon. You will enter the Block settings menu, where you can customize the form appearance. 

Changing the Forms block layout

In the Layout tab of Block settings, you can choose from various block layouts and instantly preview them:


If you decide you want to try another form layout, you can instantly do that. Your form content will be preserved.

Changing the block appearance

In the Appearance tab, you can customize various elements of your form block appearance:


Block style: the color scheme of the block

Block elements: hide or show the title and the form itself

Block layout: fullscreen or not

Form location: left or right side of the title and subtitle.

Block spacing: adjust the white spaces (margins) at the top and bottom of your form.

Vertical alignment: choose top, middle, or bottom.

Content style: add or remove a form border and a shading around it

Once you are done customizing, click Save.

Customizing form fields

All elements of the form are customizable. Click anywhere on the form to activate the Form settings window.

To access the settings for each field, hover your cursor over the field:


In Name settings, you can customize the label (the words over the field) and the placeholder (the hint inside the field that reminds the visitor what to enter).

You can also opt for this field to Make Required, so the form cannot be sent without filling it out:


In the same way, you can customize Email settings and Message settings. Once done, click Submit.

Adding a new form field

You can add more fields to your form depending on your needs. To add a new field, click the round "plus" button:


You will be able to choose a field type. In the drop-down menu, choose what kind of field you want to add:

  • Single-line text (useful for short entries)
  • Multi-line text (useful for longer messages)
  • Drop-down (allow users to choose from several options)
  • Checkbox (allow users to indicate an important feature or requirement)
  • Date and Time (great for appointment or meeting requests)

When you have chosen the new field type, add a label (what will appear on top of the field) and a placeholder (a helpful hint for users what to enter). You can also mark the field as required.

Once done customizing the new field, click Submit.

Repeat these steps to add as many fields as you want.

Changing the order of fields in the form

You can change the order of items in the form by grabbing a "stacked line" handle next to the form title in the list and drag it up or down depending on where you want the field to appear.


Form fields will be adjusted automatically.

Deleting form fields

To delete a form field, hover your cursor over the field you want to delete and click on the “trash” Delete icon:


 Note: The Email field cannot be deleted, since without it your form will not function.

Entering who will receive the form

In the Advanced tab, type in the email where user submissions will be sent. You can also add several emails who will be receiving form submissions. Simply type in the email address you want to add and click Create option in the drop-down field:



To remove an email from the list of form recipients click the X

Once done, click Submit to confirm the changes.

Editing the confirmation message

Enter the message that your visitors will see after they click the Send button on your form. For example, you may enter a shortcode for any downloadable asset your form senders may be receiving. 


Once done,  click Submit to confirm the changes.

Creating a GDPR-compliant form

When you collect personal information from your visitors, such as names and email addresses, you must obtain consent from your visitors.

Add a user consent request field to your contact form by clicking the Display GDPR consent field option in the Advanced tab:


Click Submit.

You can fully customize the text of the consent field by clicking on the default text and typing in or pasting your own wording. Once you have opted to add the Display GDPR consent field, click anywhere on the text and add your own content:

Customizing the form button

You can modify the text in the button by clicking on it and typing in the new words. To change the button color, you can apply the new color palette to your website. Once you have done customizing the form, click Publish to make changes live.
