Creating text links

In Sitebuilder, you can turn any portion of your text into a link.

Here's how you can add a text link:

Highlight the text you want to turn into a link.
In the text control pane, click the Link icon.
In the Link settings window, choose the click action for the link from the dropdown list.
Once you have chosen the click action, fill in the respective fields in the Link settings and click Submit.

The available click actions are:

Open a page
Scroll to a block
Open a web address
Make a phone call
Send an email
Download a file

Let’s explore the click action options in detail.

Creating a text link to another page

This click action allows your visitor to go to another page of your website upon clicking the link.

In the click action dropdown menu, choose the Open a page option.
Choose a page type you want to link to from the second dropdown menu.
Choose the language of the page and select the exact page. (This option appears only if you have a multilingual site.)
Change the link title in the Title field if you’d like.
Click Submit to save the changes and publish your website to make your changes live.

Linking to another block

This option allows for an instant scroll to another block of your website upon clicking the link.

In the click action dropdown list, choose the Scroll to a block option.
Pick a block where you want the link to lead in the Select block field.
Change the link title in the Title field if you’d like.
Click Submit to create a link.
Publish your website to make your changes live.

Creating a text link to a URL

This click action allows your visitor to go to another website upon clicking the link.

In the click action dropdown list, choose the Open a web address option.
Type in or paste the URL (link) to another website in the next field.
Select the Open in a new tab option if needed. Also, make sure to check the Add a Nofollow tag if you don't want to share your domain authority with the page you are linking to. More about nofollow tags here.
Click Submit to create a text link.
Publish your website to make your changes live.

Create a link that starts a phone call

Sitebuilder allows you to make your phone number clickable. This means that the phone app on your visitor’s mobile (or a calling app on their PC like Skype) will launch upon the tap (or click) and add the number to the display.

To set this click action, follow these steps:

Choose the Make a phone call option in the click action dropdown list.
Enter the phone number that users will be calling when they click the link.
Change the title if needed.
Click Submit to save the changes and publish your website to make them live.

Adding a link for sending emails

You can make any link to trigger an email client. To do this, follow these steps:

Choose the Send an email option in the click action dropdown list.
Type in or paste the email address that users will be sending emails to when they click the link.
Change the title if needed.
Click Submit to save the changes and publish your website to make them live.

Now, when your visitors click the link, their default email client window will open with your email in the To: field.

Note: The web browser requires a default email client software installed on your visitor’s computer in order to activate the email client. This could be Gmail, Apple Mail, etc. For example, if your visitor has Microsoft Outlook as a default mail client, pressing the Send an email link will open a new mail window.

Creating a link to a downloadable file

You can offer your site visitors a file to download. To do this, choose the text that leads to the download (for example, price list), and in the click action menu, choose the Download a file option.

Deleting a link

To remove a text link, follow these steps:

Click the link you want to delete and click the Link icon in the text control pane.
In the Link settings window, click the Delete link button.
Click Submit to confirm the action and publish your site to make changes live.
