Two-factor authentication (2FA) for Yola Mail

Securing your Yola Mail account with two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring your account remains secure even if your password is compromised. Follow these steps to enable 2FA for your Yola Mail account.

Step 1: Log in to your Yola Mail account

  1. When in My Yola dashboard, sign in to your Yola Mail account by clicking Email on the Topbar and then the blue Check inbox button.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. Click Login to access your inbox.

Step 2: Access security settings

  1. Once logged in, locate and click the Settings option in the Sidebar.
  2. In the Settings menu, click Password  -->  Two-Factor Authentication.

Step 3: Enable 2FA

Here you have 2 options: Enable with Google Authenticator and Enable with SMS.

To enable 2FA with Google Authenticator, follow these instructions:

  1. After clicking the Enable with Google Authenticator button, type your Yola Mail account password into the Current Password field and click Submit.

  2. With your mobile device, scan the QR code you see on the screen and follow the instructions on your phone. When you get the verification code, type it into the Verification token field below the QR code and click Save.

Note: The verification token changes every 30 seconds, make sure you enter the valid one into the field. 

After completing these steps you’ll be redirected to the sign-in page where you need to enter your credentials and then the verification token from your mobile Google Authenticator app again. 

To enable 2FA with SMS, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Enable with SMS option.
  2. Enter your current password and your full phone number including country code and click Submit.

  3. Check your phone for the text message and enter the code into the Yola Mail setup screen.

After completing these steps you’ll be redirected to the sign-in page where you need to enter your credentials and then the verification token from your SMS again.
